3 in dock for kidnapping and taking Dh10,000 ransom

Three Bangladeshi men, who allegedly kidnapped their compatriot painter, locked him up in a house for three nights, beat him, and called his family in Bangladesh, demanding Dh10,000 as ransom, have been referred by the Public Prosecution to the Dubai criminal court on charges of kidnapping, illegal imprisonment and physical assault.

UAE probing women cell of secret group

UAE Attorney-General Salim Saeed Kubaish announced on Wednesday that as part of investigations being carried out by the Office of the Public Prosecution into members of a secret organisation who are accused of establishing and managing a cell that aims to seize power in the country, to oppose the basic principles of the UAE system, and to damage social harmony and peace, officials have started investigation of leaders of the women’s branch of the organisation.
